With regret we have decided to cancel this year's DBDC, A Legendary Celebration, for 2020. We felt it best not to face further risk for you or any of our officials with the Corona Virus still very much with us, even if the State of Massachusetts would allow gatherings the size of dance competitions.
We believe, and we hope you do also, that The DBDC is a very special event, but a lot of what makes it so - our Legendary Celebration Dinner, our "Champagne on Tap" VIP balconies and Presidential Suite receptions and our hospitality suite for lunches and snacks - simply would not have been possible, even if the main event in the ballroom was.
We hope you will be able to join us in Boston in 2021. Mr. Rufus Dustin will be honored in the Lifetime Achievement Award Banquet and we plan to offer our full "La Vida Loca - Boston" and "VIP Champagne" packages as usual. We hope many of you will consider a trip to the colonial splendor of Lexington, MA, and the fabulous Inn at Hastings Park which we are rescheduling for 2021.
Until we meet again, we're keeping the champagne on ice for you!

2019 Ballroom Dance Competition Video Overview
Dancing in the Heart of American History
Boston holds a special place among American cities, bridging 17th C. British colonialism, 18th C. American Revolutionary activity, 19th C expansion to a wealthy, international trading seaport and center of intellectual enlightenment with a 20th C transformation to a 21st C center of world-renowned education institutions and hotbed for medical and technology advancement, a vibrant city enjoyed by residents and visitor alike.
With the DBDC’s central Boston location, you are participating in a Ballroom dance competition steps away from the historical and visual feast Boston offers: high-end shopping and dining in elegant, European-flavored Back Bay; the gracious grounds and graceful swans of the Public Garden; the movie-set quaintness of the classic Federal and Greek Revival dwellings of Beacon Hill; the striking new architecture of downtown and the financial district; and you are just minutes away from the maritime history of the Boston Tea Party site or the Charlestown Navy Yard and the ivied, hallowed halls of Harvard and MIT .
Named to Lonely Planet’s Top 10 U. S. Travel Destinations for 2014, Boston is a paradise for walkers and photographers, and as July brings great weather to Boston, plan your visit to include some time to enjoy the beautiful city of Boston before or after our glamorous Ballroom dance event, the DBDC ~ A Legendary Celebration.
