Rules – Top Teacher Awards
The minimum entry requirements are for qualification purposes. To qualify for the top teacher awards you must have a minimum of 50 Pro/Am entries and ALL students and teachers must be on a package and teacher must collect prize in person at the Saturday night session. These awards are based on total points accrued during the event. Points are awarded to the Professional teacher as follows.

Point System for Top Teacher

Single Dance Entry = 1 point

Multi Dance Entry = 3 points

Additional Rules for Top Teacher Awards

Rule l

If more than one person qualifies for first place, then the highest total will be the winner and second place will receive second place prize money (i.e., $7000 to first, $4000 to second). Should two people tie for first place, they will split the sum of first and second places (i.e., each will receive $5500). This also applies to all other places.

Rule 2

If first place does not qualify with 300 entries and has for example more than 250, he does qualify for second place prize money $4000. Should second place also have more than 250, he will qualify for second place and receive $3000 third place prize money. Should third place have more than 200 entries, he will be awarded fourth place prize money as in Rule 1.

Rule 3

To qualify for top teacher prize money, all entries must be received AND paid in full by the commencement of the competitions

Rule 4

All students and teachers must all be on a package and teacher must collect prize in person at the Saturday Night Session. Entries and fees must be paid in full by the commencement of the competition.

Rule 5

In case of an emergency, student substitutions may be made within the heat ONLY. If the
substitute falls into a different age category or level, we will allow the student to be judged separately.

Special Notice to All Competitors

All competitors, including Pro/Am teachers, are required to hold a current registration card from the NDCA for 2025 and must supply the organizers with official registration number before the competition begins. To register you may write to Lee Wakefield, c/o Brigham Young University, PO Box 22018 Provo IT 84062. Please include your NDCA number on entry form to facilitate registration requirements. You may register with the NDCA representative online if you are not a member. Foreign professional competitors may use their comparable professional organization affiliation. These rules will be strictly enforced. Failure to comply will result in disqualification.
